Numbers
Interesting facts in PI business
According to reports by the federal government, there are some 5,000 PI’s in Texas. We believe that number is wrong however, and estimate about 1,000 PI’s with maybe 500-600 that are actively working part or full time.
There are 31 million Texans, and that’s about 31,000 Texans/PI if you believe our 1,000 active PI’s number. There are also about 98,000 lawyers, many of whom are potential customers.
In terms of crime, there are an estimated 113,000 violent crimes in Texas, 69,000 property crimes, over 100,000 burglaries and 470,000 thefts each year. It seems there is enough crime to keep us all busy. ☹ These numbers do not include torts, which are addressed by the civil justice system.
Texas needs more crime fighters, that’s for sure.
